New with LG at #CES2016 #LGMomCES

Ok, let's just get this out there right off the bat.

I had no clue that LG had so many incredible products coming out this year!  And... I only knew that LG had phones so to see all the life changing products hitting the market - an eye opener to say the least!  Let's just start with the sexiest - eh - prettiest of products for every household.

The LG Robotic Vacuum Cleaner:  HOM-BOT Turbo+

I can give you the scientific explanation or I can give you the real mom meaning.  Let's just put it out there.... A VACUUM CLEANER THAT CAN CLEAN THE HOUSE ITSELF!  Yes!  This vacuum functions by scanning the room with the eyes on the vacuum and then they know where to go & what to clean. The smart feature is called Home-Joy and it allows consumers to issue instructions to the vacuum by designating areas that need extra cleaning by usign the camera of a smartphone.  Their trademarked 'triple eye' camera sensor records the area tracking where it already cleaned.

All of this sounds incredible right?  My question is - does it come with a cabana boy? ha.

lg gizmo from ces 2016

The wearables are all the rage these days and after spending a week at CES - I can assure you I'm SERIOUSLY considering one for myself AND my kids!  LG has delivered a round 2 for the Gizmo Pal.  Wearables for kids totally can take place of that device that you are mad at yourself for giving them!  (Ok, so that is my house-but maybe you can relate! lol)

The Gizmo Gadget is the Gizmo Pal 'bigger sibling'.  This is a product available with Verizon Wireless so swing into your local store to hear more!

I am so in love with this new item I might CRY!  ha.  Actually, maybe not - but it's definitely a life saver for many moms out there!  And potentially after ours just crashed while I was in Vegas - I might really be thinking about buying one of these.

Get this.  A washing machine that can clean 2 loads at once AND it comes with a remote control!!!  INSANITY I tell ya!

My fave is the washer by far.  But to know that they do so many other things outside of phones & TV's I'm dying to learn more about the brand!

What is your dream LG product?

The REAL Meaning of Christmas #RealMomBigGIVE

Yesterday was the 3rd #RealMomBigGIVE event with Kisses for Kyle Foundation at Holly Days Nursery in Horsham.  My phone died while setting up so I personally never got any pictures...and you KNOW I'm a picture nut.  I was pretty bummed about it since I didn't get to share much online before-during and after the event.... Nor did I have any to 'tell the story' of my experience.  But Boston and I really had a great heart to heart about it last night and it really felt amazing that I was FINALLY able to show him why he has grown up with a garage full of toys that he can't touch.  And the 'these are for boys & girls who need it more than us' comments all finally made total sense to him.

So, needless to say this morning when Sharon Snyder, the mom to Kyle from Kisses for Kyle Foundation sent me a link and a million amazing pics - it was just the icing on the cake.  And it was the visual reminder that I needed to confirm that what I am doing is in the right direction.  It is ok to give more.  It is ok to believe in the good intentions of others.  It is ok to GIVE more than you RECEIVE during the holidays and the whole year for that matter.

You see, personally, I had this internal struggle this year with so many things.  I decided I wanted to get away from the 'stuff' & anything that can be added to the 'mommy blogger' mentality with my business and get deeper into relationships that fuel my soul vs. sucking the life out it. haha.  And unfortunately, there was a LOT of soul sucking this year.  So to end it with seeing some of these amazing kids smiling again?  The best therapy in the world.

The essence of seeing my 7 year old help this little girl pick out a gift that he *thinks* she would love and she DID love?  Priceless.  Absolutely priceless.  Not to mention, I particularly love to talk to the moms of these kids.  So yesterday when I met so many amazing families who have been supported by Kisses for Kyle, I gravitated to the moms eyes.  I'm the type of person that lives for the in-person-part of life.  Yes, my job is 100% online - but there is nothing in this world that can take away two people making eye contact with each other.  I saw all kinds of eyes in front of me.  Women who sparkled with joy.  Some had pure sadness though.  Stress.  Exhaustion.  One mom I saw had a daughter going through chemotherapy at that moment.  My husband told Hudson (my 2 year old) to go give the little girl a hug and the mom stopped Hudson short of doing it.  I saw concern in her eyes.  And as another mother who has never and PRAY TO GOD never EVER has to deal with a child going through chemo, I personally wanted to hug her too.  She was super kind in saying that although she loved the thought of Hudson giving her little girl a hug, he couldn't in fear that it would compromise her immune system.  I never thought about that, honestly.

But it totally made sense.  And then I found myself thinking about it. A child going through chemo - and she can't give or receive hugs.  As a person who lives in this life with the constant need of being touched, hugged, LOVED.... I wanted to cry for that sweet girl.  She was so full of spunk and Hudson really wanted to hug her.  She was full of funny quips and the whole cancer thing didn't seem to phase her.  I'd go on a limb to say that not everyday was a happy as yesterday was.

Today I had lunch with a friend of mine that I've known since moving to Philly.  We ended up chatting till almost 3p!!  The best and the worst part about working for yourself.  You don't have someone working the clock with the 'proper lunch break' timing & honestly, it was a conversation I needed for a really long time.  I miss relationships with REAL women.  I feel like sometimes as women we get caught up in the gossip or the story that we forget that there are real human beings behind that story.  My conversation with my girlfriend is etched in that table we were sitting at for 2 hours & never to be repeated.  =)  But it was a really great reminder to me that no matter what someone looks like on the outside - whether it be by facebook or any other social media - until you walk a mile in their shoes - you have no idea the blisters on their toes that they're dealing with.  Or the skeletons in the closet....

One of the things we talked about was the blessings you receive when you become a mom.  But just like in anything, life is filled with ups and downs.  And remembering the blessings even when your house is full and you've got people digging in the fridge for food when you're TRYING to get supper on the table?  Yeah.  That house is MY HOUSE.  Not everyday - but almost every day of the week.  Insanity when the clock strikes 5!  And for many years I let that insane moment take me down cause I didn't think I could handle it.  So when I finally conquered the survival part of that crazy - it did not control me anymore than I allowed it to.

I often wonder with these moms raising babies who get cancer.  That insane moment when you want to lose your mind over your kids turns into that moment when you want to hug them so tight that you never want to let them go.

I'm grateful for every second that my kids are healthy and living a vibrant & colorful life.  And moments like yesterday, I'm grateful to have the means to give to the 200 plus families who came.  And in fact, I'd go on a limb that 99% of the people there had no clue that I worked all year to be able to bring all those products.  But I'm totally ok with that.  Some kids actually asked me if I was Santa's Elf because I was dressed funny. Of course I am Santa's Elf.  Who else would I be?!?!

That was yesterday.  Today?  I'm back to Boston & Hudson's mom.  And I'm grateful to all the toy companies who worked with me this year to make the #RealMomBIgGIVE happen once again.  And thankful to the families who pushed through whatever it was happening in their lives that day to be sure to be at this event.  It was the absolute biggest one yet.

Cheers to curing cancer and many more holiday events!  Hug your babies tonite!

Goldfish Swim School in Fort Washington #RealMomBigGIVE

Many MANY many MANY MANY years ago I was a lifeguard.  Why yes.  I was in charge of hundreds of people for over seven years of my younger me life.  I was in charge of their LIFE.  Their SAFETY.  Their ability to SURVIVE in water.

Sounds kind of insane when you think about it, doesn't it?  I was actually the 'HEAD Lifeguard' in college and taught water aerobics for all those years with elderly.  So needless to say, even though I was never on a swim team, I was one heck of a lifesaver.

So it was an obvious concern in motherhood that my own children HAVE to know to swim.  Not just because it's a sport or an after school extra curricular activity.  But because it means LIFE OR DEATH!!!  Seriously, not meaning to be a holiday-buzz kill - but let's face it you all - water is DANGEROUS for children!  It doesn't matter if you live near the ocean or Alaska, every human being should know such an important life saving skill as knowing how to swim to safety!

I mean, think about it.  Soccer, flag football, music THEY have the potential of saving your precious cargo lives?  Not that I know of!  But knowing how to swim?  One of those life skills that no one should ever miss.

My neighbor had been talking about this really great swim school in Ft Washington all summer.  And again, my mind kept coming back to the major need to get my kids in the water to swim!  I knew that even though I probably taught 1,000 kids how to swim in my lifetime, I could not be the only resource my kids have to swimming.  So when I heard about Goldfish it kept ringing in my ears with my neighbor and the summertime.  Fast forward to this past September and the stars aligned!  We joined the swim school!

The best part of Goldfish can't even be explained until you set foot in the facility.

Let me just put it this way... IT IS IN AN OFFICE BUILDING!  lol Seriously.  They gutted an office building, put a pool in it (with OTHER office buildings STILL in the building by the way) and ROCKED the cuteness of this place!  I love that when it's cold outside, it's warm and tropical inside Goldfish School!

The water is warm.  ALL the TIME.

The teachers are beyond adorable.  They are truly in love with the students and with a class like Hudson's the parents as well!  I take the class with him and LOVE how sweet it is. I really want to do a video IN the water with him.  Maybe I'll do that next time for sure.

I can't tell you what a great place this is for kids in Philly.  They are popping up all over too.  Chicago, Michigan, you name it.  There is no better gift this holiday season than teaching your kids to swim!

You think he LIKES this place!!!?? Hudson LOVES @goldfishswimschool in Ft Washington!!! #Philly #RealMomGiftGuide

Self Balancing Boards and The Best of the Rest this Holiday on @Fox29

Why yes, my favorite time of year for sure!  I get to play on tv with the coolest mom in PHILLY!!  ha.  Jennaphr Frederick and I met WHILE DOING THESE SEGMENTS.  I pitched her years ago for a holiday segment - she liked me and gave me a shot and now I stalk her like this insane toy lady!!  I mean, I am a toy hoarder.  Sort of.  Well, just because it's my JOB.  Ahem.  I've gotten better, ok? hahaha.  But my GARAGE?  Dude.  I can't even tell you what my neighbors think of my product problem.  You see, have you SEEN the Real Mom Gift Guide?

Honestly, I like to think I'm a PRODUCT PRINCESS and not a toy hoarder. I That baby called a gift guide takes some serious product reviews to pump out.  And not everything gets out here in my social universe either!  So yes, Jenn has seen my garage.

Ha.  I joke cause she's the best.  The best EVER in Philly.  Not because she puts me on tv, but because she gets me!  Oh the conversations we've had.  And one of them was me talking her OFF the idea of allowing Santa to give her son a self balancing scooter for the holidays.  True story.  Those things really weren't winning with me.  But then I learned of Glitek (the brand I endorse in the gift guide this year) & Razor (the brand I've endorsed for the past 5 years).  The ONLY two brands I endorse for this crazy scooter craze this season. Period.  And neither of them are paying me to say that either! #NotSponsored.  So, truth be told - I wasn't sold on them for kids with all these scary stories out there from them burning down homes and awful stuff like that!  I talked all my friends down from getting one for their kids and now I sort of change my opinion on them.  Sorry Sandy! haha.  (My friend Sandy - her daughter wants one BAD. I talked out her of it.  SORRY ALLIE!!)

So, first watch this AMAZING story she did with Tony from Glitek & why the batteries need to be a SPECIFIC kind of battery before you buy.

And then check out the hot holiday toys for the BIGGER girls & boys!  And note:  Boston my dear son who I love - THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T MESS WITH MY TOYS DUDE! ha.  Love my kids, but man alive - if you knew the struggles with having all these samples in my home.  It's a REALLY hot toy when MY kids fight for it.  OR - It's a REALLY REALLY hot toy when Joey comes on Fox 29 and it DOESN'T WORK cause the KIDS ate the ingredients white testing or the dang batteries are dead!  #RealMomProblems for sure!
