SOZA CLINIC WEEK ONE

SOZA CLINIC WEEK ONE

So, here I am.  Once again battling the bulge.

But this time I feel GREAT about my goals.

I'm 3 months postpartum and ready to find that old body again.

The body that I had before having children.

I've done great with losing the 'Hudson weight'.  I lost 25 pounds in the 3 months of his little life.

But I still have 50 pounds of 'baby #1 weight' clinging to my thighs.

Yes.  That's NOT a type.  50 pounds.  FIFTY.

And my 'baby #1' is now 5 years old.

So, here I am as commited as I've been in a long time.  I'm ready to make this change.

I waited a week before I shared my experience because I wanted to really give myself a chance to get into it.  I'm working with an amazing place called Soza Clinic.  The wonderful doctors & staff there have me well on my way to to my ultimate goal.

You walk in the offices and you REALLY SEE success stories.  People who have lost weight.  AND they look and feel great!

I'm super excited to be on this journey to better health and I sure hope you follow along!

Friday Car Confessional Playlist

Friday Car Confessional

Playlist

So today I had some free time.

I know. ME? FREE?

I was trying to clear out some files on my computer because it has been slowing down like crazy.  So I hit up iTunes and figured I could get rid of some old music that I just don't listen to.

That didn't work so well.

Cause I found an old playlist that I use to RUN to.  Yeah.  I use to run.  True story!  Back in my early to mid 20s I lost about 70 pounds.  I then became an avid runner.  I LOVED it.  I ran everywhere.  I would run 7 miles a day and not think twice about it.  Now?!?!  I'm lucky if I make it 7 feet without wanting to pass out.

So as I hit play, my endorphines ramped up.  I felt chills all over by body.  Closed my eyes...and began to imagine myself then.  The way I felt about myself.  My career. My life.

I tossed on the shoes.  Grabbed the dog, iphone, playlist, headphones, keys and hit the trail.

Wissahickon Trail.  Fairmount Park.  Philly.

Gorgeous place for sure.  I reminded me of the running trails I use to hit when I lived in Bristol, Va years ago.  Gorgeous, flowing hills that I would run without stopping for EVER.

Ahhh.  To have that body again.

Oh hell, who was I kidding.

I got out of the car - and HIT PLAY.

The entire time it felt like I was on some sort of a roller coaster in my head.  The images of my life those running years ran through my head as fast as my steps could take me.  My physical being was 36 but my mental and emotional being was a smokin' hot 26!!

I felt great.  And at least for TODAY I can know that I did something good for my mind...and my body.  (And my dog for that matter! lol)

So I challenge you to create a playlist of tunes that remind you of when you were the STRONGEST in your life.  When you had it all together.  A time you look back on that was awesome.

Then get out and relive the days again.

Today.

This was on my playlist:

*NOTE: Don't make fun of my tunes.  Lindsay Lohan had some mega hits, ya know? lol

- Train - All American Girl

- Lindsay Lohan - Anything But Me

- 50 Cent Ayo Technology (with cutie Justin Timberlake mmm)

- Moby - Bodyrock

- Gorillaz - Dare

- Britney Spears - ENTIRE Blackout Album from 2007

- Bodyrockers - LOVE this group.  For One Night Only & Round&Round

- Scissor Sisters - ENTIRE 2004 Album. Take Your Mama - Comfortable Numb? Sweetness.

- Justin Timberlake - OMG. He was so HOT. Rock Your Body, Senorita, What Goes Around

Ahhhhhh. So many more.

What's some of the life highlights on your list?

Sono Bello Holiday Temptations

Sono Bello Holiday Temptations

How do you feel today?

Are you STARTING to not feel so stuffed from Thanksgiving?  =)

I can totally relate with that feeling. TRUST ME.

Here's the deal. Without telling you to NOT TOUCH the goodies at the Holiday Season - how about a few tips to tame temptation?

5 Tips to Tame Temptation:  Holiday Style

1)  Do NOT skip meals!!  That'll kill ya.  Grab something raw before heading to a party and gnaw on that a bit!

2)  ALCOHOL = BAD!!  lol I'm not one to have 'one and be done' so I just say no thanks on them all.  But seriously, even the non-alcoholic drinks can be loaded with thigh huggers!  Think before you drink..no matter what it is!  I LOVE drinking club soda with a splash of grenadine or toss in some fresh raspberries.

3) If you MEGA chow at one meal, go light the next!  It only takes 500 calories a day (3,500 a week) above normal consumption to gain one pound.  ((GULP!!))

4) DON'T FOCUS ON FOOD!!  I know.  Easier said than done right?  Try some 'non-edible' projects around the house beside making 10 tons of cookies!!  Help with a charity, have friend over to make a wreath.... so much more to do than eating.

5) SURVEY THE BUFFET!  Check it out before grabbing the biggest plate you can find and filling it to the brim!  Take TEENY TINY portions so you can enjoy it all.

The holidays are obviously the time to enjoy food, family, friends & fun.

Best tip:  Tell you're hubby you want a gift certificate to Sono Bello as your gift!!

Get rid of the guilt and start 2013 out right!

Take It Off Tuesday

TAKE IT OFF MONDAY TUESDAY

Ohhh heck.  I'm so behind.  This past week has been INSANITY.  The definition of insanity?

in·san·i·ty/inˈsanitē/

Noun:
  1. The state of being seriously mentally ill; madness.
  2. Extreme foolishness or irrationality.
Yeah friends.  PRETTY MUCH hit the nail on the head with that one.
So... TODAY, I'm back on the saddle.  Or the scale for that matter.
And I'm HAPPY.  Cause when life gives me lemons?  I made lemonade of course.
And when I battle depression?  I don't eat.  NOT a good way to live, for sure.  But there are definitely benefits to it.
So... my husband said to me yesterday on the phone 'try and have a good day'.
And I BAWKED at him for his overachieving foolishness.
But today?
I thank him.
Cause my game face is on.  (Although I can't wear my contacts cause I have a sty or something nuts in my right eye)  I'm feeling pretty good about myself.
I went for a hike.  I sweated like a pig.  And the scale is less.
L.I.G.
LIFE IS GOOD.  (Just for today.)
And if you need some inspiration?  Check out this AWESOME pinterest page.
She's my new favorite blogger.
What are you doing to ROCK your day?
