One Day

 One Day

Last night I met up with a friend.  She asked me if I wanted to catch a movie and thinking that it would be too much to ask my husband last minute I declined.

Then I thought...well...maybe.

So I texted him and he said 'absolutely'.

Which was kind of nice.

But can I tell you that I could have gone without the tearshed!!!

We saw the movie 'One Day' with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess.

I of course knew of Hathaway-but this was the first time I've ever seen Sturgess.

The movie was super sad.

Hathaway is just some ordinary working class girl.  Upon college graduation they hooked up.

And well...decided to be 'just friends'.

And that they were.

For nearly 20 years.

They pretty much became best friends.

You could see it in their eyes when they were together that what they had was something special.

It had a very 'small town girl meets big city guy' feeling to it.

Um. Was THAT planned?!?!?! lol

After years of being 'just friends' they admitted to each other that they were in love.

It was awesome.

He had a daughter from a previous relationship.

And he also had some baggage to go along with it.

They got married and they unsuccessfully tried to get pregnant.

I probably shouldn't say this.

But it ended in tragedy.

Don't read on if you don't want to know!!!!!!!

She was riding her bike home from work one day.

And was hit by a car.

She died.

I lost it.

So did he.

Spiralling out of control.  It was sooo heartbreaking.

Ugh.  I'm not allowed to go to a movie anymore unless it's a comedy, ok?!!??!
