Wine & chocolate.  Did I have you at wine or chocolate? lol

Hi, I'm Debbie, a friend of Joey's who is a DIE HARD fan of wine.  And chocolate.

So when she asked me if I wanted to be her wine & chocolate contrbutor?  You know I jumped all over that one.

Joey handed over a basket with a great collection of all the bells & whistles for wine lovers.  From coasters to wine covers with great sayings like, "liquid therapy".  Great touch!  I got two pairings.  Clos du Bios Pinot Noir with Brookside Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor and  Brookside Dark Chocolate Acai & Blueberry Flavors paired with a Clos du Bios Merlot.  My dilemma ....which to try first.

The Merlot is described as having a bouquet filled with blackberry, plum, black raspberry, vanilla and spice, filling the palate with an abundance of blackberry, subtle pepper, and layers of toasted oak and vanilla, leading to a slightly dry fruity finish.   Add this with the BROOKSIDE Dark Chocolate Açai & Blueberry Flavors of Smooth, where semi-sweet dark chocolate surrounds a bright, fruity flavor hit of açai, highlighted with the flavor of ripe, lush blueberries....and we have a winner?!  Well, I should at least read about the second pairing...just to be fair.

The Clos du Bois Pinot Noir and Brookside Dark Chocolate Pomegranate Flavor states opposites attract when bursting fruit juice sweetness meets dry sophistication.....this could be a challenge deciding.....  The Pinot Noir is described as having a nose that exhibits bourbon vanilla, raspberry jam, and oak, allowing red fruits to layer with blackberry and raspberry, highlighted by spice notes with a lingering smooth tannin finish.

OKAY OKAY!!  IT'S TIME TO DIG IN ALREADY!

I pulled out the wine opener and grabbed a bottle....The Merlot first.  My taste buds were dancing!  The dry fruity finish of the wine sent the senses on overload when paired with the delicious dark chocolate with Acai & Blueberry flavor.   The people at Brookside and Clos du Bois know their pairing.   BROOKSIDE Chocolate is rich, dark chocolate with sweetened soft centers made with exotic fruit flavors. It's chocolate like you've never experienced before.  When put together with this delicious Pinot Noir?  HEAVEN!

What a great gift idea this would be for the chocolate or wine lovers on my gift list.  This would be amazing for entertaining as well!!  Thumbs up for that!!!  Thank you Brookside...you made entertaining easier!  Now, if you will excuse me - I'm off to finish... the chocolate of course.

Sweetness.
